Some good news for our friends in Georgia.

Georgians with licenses to carry concealed firearms will be allowed to bring their guns into restaurants and onto MARTA trains under controversial legislation signed into law by Gov. Sonny Perdue Wednesday.

The bill, which was opposed by restaurant and public transportation industry leaders, will apply to about 300,000 Georgia with concealed-weapons permits.

It has been a top priority of the National Rifle Association in Georgia and other states.

The measure's supporters said the Second Amendment gives gun owners the right to defend themselves.

But opponents said allowing guns in restaurants and on buses and trains would pose a threat to public safety.

Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and representatives of the Georgia Restaurant Association and MARTA had urged Perdue to veto the bill.

Action Center Online

I got the action center up today after tedious hours of getting as many rep and state senate members e-mails as I could. Some are still not entered. I will be calling their offices or submitting an online request through their website for their actual e-mail addresses.

We're back up and good to go!

Ok guys, I finished up the rest of the website today. Only one small section to go that I still want to do, but it's nothing important yet. I finished up the site's theme and securing what I can, I have the database being backed up every 2 hours as well
Now after spending my entire vacation on getting the site done, I'm gonna get back to work on keeping an eye on the legislation and an eye on bad media and other things

Forums Back Online

Our forums are back online and under the new database backup scheme, so we should theoretically never have another complete loss of data.

Forums Database Destoryed

Well, either a "Script Kiddy" or a very odd problem with the forum database occured last week. That is why our forums have been down. It was not caught in time and also destoryed our automatic database backup.

I am working to restore our forums which will require everyone to re-register unfortunatly. I am also changing our database backup system. I will now keep a running log of our database so that in the event of this happening again so close to the backup time, that we will have the previous backups to restore from.

We are looking into the matter of if this was a freak occurance or if someone actually had a hand in this.

Thanks again for your support and we'll be back online with our forums soon.
